Selling and renting by owner — FAQs

What is FSBO.ms?
FSBO.ms is a for-sale-by-owner marketplace for Mississippi's Golden Triangle — Columbus, Starkville and West Point. Owners list homes, short-term rentals, commercial property, land and hunting leases directly, with their own web address for each property.
How much does it cost to list a property?
Listings are $20 per month with a three-month minimum, or a $150 one-time fee. Listing a property in more than one category costs $10 per month extra, or $20 one-time, per additional category.
What areas does FSBO.ms cover?
Columbus, Starkville and West Point, Mississippi, plus the surrounding Lowndes, Oktibbeha and Clay County countryside.
Can I list one property in several categories?
Yes. A property can appear under multiple categories — for example land for sale and a hunting lease — while its web address stays on the primary category you choose for search visibility.
How do buyers and guests pay?
Buyers contact owners directly through the listing page. Short-term rental guests can book online and pay by card, PayPal or Venmo.
Do I need a real estate license to sell my own home in Mississippi?
No. Mississippi owners may sell their own property without a license. Closings are typically handled by a local real estate attorney or title company.
